Blaine Bjarnarson fell in love with the de Havilland DHC6 TWIN OTTER early in his career as a bush pilot in Canada's frozen north. He decided that was the airplane he wanted to fly and he also decided he didn't want it mounted on skis - he wanted his Twin Otter to be on floats and located in a warm country. Your author's first book, Old Pilot, Bold Pilot, descibes him as a determined young man who soon found himself flying his favourite airplane in the Caribbean, Croatia, and repeatedly returning to his favoured island resorts of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean where several large seaplane airlines operate. A fabulous flying lifestyle developed over Bjarnarson's 43 years in the left seat.
